This session will guide evaluation personnel through a deeper look at IEP development and the connection to evaluation data provided in the FIE. After a brief review of the legal requirements and TEA approved guidance for IEP goal development, participants will apply their knowledge by assessing information provided in a FIE that leads to PLAAFP development and Standards-Based IEP goal/objective(s) for critical areas of need.

Participants will leave this training knowing:

• The essential elements of a PLAAFP and Annual Goals and Objectives
• How to incorporate information for PLAAFP development that creates a strong foundation for IEP goals and objectives
• How to develop  measurable IEP goals and objectives that align with state standards (TEKS) and address identified critical needs
