A Texas Prekindergarten Guidelines Training on the 2022 Revised Emergent Literacy Reading Domain
This professional development session focuses on equipping Pre-K teachers with the knowledge and tools they need to support their students' emergent literacy development, specifically in the area of reading, as outlined in the 2022 Texas Prekindergarten Guidelines. Participants will learn about the components of emergent literacy and how to facilitate children's development of motivation to read, phonological awareness, alphabet knowledge, print awareness, and comprehension skills. Through engaging discussions, hands-on activities, and modeling, teachers will explore evidence-based practices that promote emergent literacy and discover how to incorporate them into their daily instruction.
