Out with the Old & In with the New: Expository to Informational & Persuasive to Argumentative 6-12 (Concurrent)
Join us on the journey from expository to informational, and from persuasive to argumentative! We will study the shifts in language and expectation in the new TEKS and the implications for our instruction. We will take a close look at these genres of writing, including their similarities and differences, and what it means for our young writers, and the writing happening in our classroom! Walk away with an increased understanding of the shift in language, expectation, practice, and mindset, and strategies to implement these shifts in your classroom.
