Unveiling Comprehension (Concurrent)
Good Readers are extremely active as they read. Knowing why they are reading, asking questions while reading, making connections, and analyzing text for meaning leads to strong levels of comprehension. Reading researchers have developed approaches to stimulating active reading by teaching readers to use comprehension strategies like these. In this session, we will discuss and share the many possible strategies that produce improved memory and comprehension of text in children.
