Apex Learning Tutorials provide targeted reading support for students enrolled in English I or English II. Tutorials facilitate accelerated instruction and help students meet the requirements for successful completion of English I or English II. Developed specifically for TEKS and aligned to STAAR assessments, Tutorials offer prescriptive assessment, direct instruction, and meaningful practice to build the required knowledge and skills.
Novice User TOT – 1:00-4:00 (3 hours)
Audience: Teachers / campus leadership / district leadership who are new to Apex Learning Tutorials or who would like a refresher on basic skills
Session Overview:
Participants in our Novice-User Training-of-Trainers will experience the tutorials from a student’s perspective and will review data from a teacher’s perspective. For district and campus leadership, we will discuss implementation planning and program progress monitoring. For teachers, we will discuss the tutorials resources, classroom implementation strategies, and best practices. Participants will dive deep into the tutorials and resources they need to share Apex Learning Tutorials with their district and campus stakeholders.
Intermediate- / Advanced-User TOT – 9:00-12:00 (3 hours)
Audience: Teachers / campus leadership / district leadership who have used Apex Learning Tutorials for 2+ months
Session Overview:
Participants in our Intermediate/Advanced-User Training-of-Trainers will dive deep into the tutorials various models of implementation in the classroom, school, and district. Participants will reflect on implementation experiences and will share in a round-table discussion. Participants will take a deep look at resources and best practices before creating a take-away document for immediate use in the classroom or school.
