Reading, Writing, and Vocabulary Strategies for Social Studies
Grades 4-12
Share
Students who struggle with reading and vocabulary will need extra support to master content material. This session will provide participants with a deeper understanding of how to help struggling readers in the secondary social studies classroom. Writing in social studies allows student to demonstrate the depth of understanding they have mastered. Each research-based strategy will be discussed, demonstrated and applied to the needs of secondary readers and classroom instruction. Instructional strategies and resources to meet the needs of struggling students will also be shared and explored.
