Do you strive to be the diagnostician that writes reports others read for more than just eligibility?
In this session, we will review how to make your evaluation results more relevant to instruction and make your FIE a powerful tool for supporting student success. Participants will learn to report on how the disability affects involvement and progress in the general education curriculum and build on their understanding of a pattern of strengths and weaknesses relevant to academic area(s) of concern. Participants will use a rubric to improve the quality of their report writing and learn strategies on how to report the necessary specially designed instruction for a student. Well written reports support teachers by providing the information to help teachers encourage a student’s higher order thinking allowing teachers to differentiate instruction in their classroom.
