Integrating Figure 19 with Reading and Writing, K-5




Integrating Figure 19 skills involves teaching thinking through a variety of meta cognitive reading and writing skills. Making inferences and predictions lead students to think deeply about texts and is foundational for reading comprehension. In this session, we will explore ways to deepen student understanding through meta cognition and teacher-friendly scaffolds to explicitly teach students to master Figure 19 skills in order to monitor and adjust comprehension to process text and develop writer's craft.
