Measuring Student Growth with Writing Portfolios, ELAR, 8-12
Blended Session




Tracking student progress in their writing can be a difficult and time-consuming process. We will be addressing how to build student writing portfolios, how to manage them, and how they can contribute to growing each student writer individually. Identifying and charting weaknesses, strengths, creating measurable goals, and then tracking progress toward those goals are all valuable practices that writing portfolios inspire in students as they work to grow as young writers. 


Important Session Information:


Do not miss the opportunity to be part of this innovative Blended Learning PD at Region 12. This 6 hour session begins with 3 hours of face-to-face professional development from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm, followed by 2 hours of outside learning experiences as you implement writing portfolios in your classes, and a 1 hour webinar to discuss and reflect on the implementation process. 

This is a blended learning session (a combination of online and face-to-face learning), therefore the registration deadline for this session ends one week prior to the face-to-face date. Please pay careful attention to the start and end times for this session. Participants may stay after the conclusion of the face-to-face portion of the session to begin work on the outside learning experience/assignment.

Please bring a technological device to use during the face-to-face sessions.
