Write on Track: Supporting the Struggling Writer in Early Childhood

Requiring the child to use many physical and mental processes at once, the journey to becoming a writer is one of the most difficult things a child can do. Participants will leave with an understanding of ways to support struggling writers through authentic, meaningful, and playful opportunities to engage in the writing process throughout the day and develop a toolkit of fine motor activities that can be implemented immediately in a classroom routine.  Specific strategies for differentiating the needs of diverse learning, including struggling students, will be included.
