Bringing Books to Life: Designing Read Alouds in the Early Years (PK-K)

"Experts tell us that children need to hear 1,000 stories read aloud before they begin to read for themselves." Mem Fox

Through read alouds, children build essential language and literacy skills, imagine other places, consider new concepts and ideas, and extend their interests and curiosity.  Join this session to learn how to select books to build read alouds, develop engaging, meaningful, and fun interactions with books, grow vocabulary, and design effective extension activities for learning centers.  Specific strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners, including struggling students will also be included.
