Meaningful Makerspaces Grades K-5
Blended Session

Makerspaces have become very popular in education and seem to be popping up in schools all over the world. While designing, creating, and making are all very important for our students, it is also important that we are engaging them in activities that are meaningful and relevant. In this session, I will explain why it is so important that our students have time during their school day to produce.  Attendees will understand how to implement the 4 C's - collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking - into a makerspace as well as how to encourage students to be willing to take risks and learn by doing.

Important Session Information:

Do not miss this opportunity to be part of this innovative Blended Learning PD at Region 12 combining online and face-to-face learning. This 6 hour session includes a brief pre-session activity, 4.5 hours of face-to-face professional development from 9:00am - 2:30pm accompanied by 1.5 hour(s) of outside learning experience.

Since this blended learning session includes a brief pre-session activity, the registration deadline for the session ends one week prior to the face-to-face date. Please pay careful attention to the start and end times for the face-to-face portion of this session. Participants may stay at the conclusion of the face-to-face portion of the session to begin work on the outside learning experience.
