Engaging Learners: Effective Academic Discourse (ALISEN)
Blended Session




This training focuses on the tools and training students will need to carry on academic discourse (oral and written), and prepares teachers to assess student discourse in a fair and meaningful way. Participants will explore strategies to help teachers transition from direct instruction to a facilitator role in terms of student academic conversations. During this session you will be introduced to the Active Learning Institute for Student Engagement Network (ALISEN).

Do not miss this opportunity to be part of this innovative Blended Learning PD at Region 12 combining online and face-to-face learning. This 4 hour session includes a brief pre-session activity, 3 hours of face-to-face professional development accompanied by 1 hour of outside learning experience.

Since this blended learning session includes a brief pre-session activity, the registration deadline for the session ends one week prior to the face-to-face date. Please pay careful attention to the start and end times for the face-to-face portion of this session. 
Please bring your own device if possible.
