College and Career Readiness Foundation and Standards
4 Keys to Readiness

In this workshop, campus teams will learn to build a college and career readiness foundation. The Texas College and Career Readiness Task Force has identified the key areas in which schools can reasonably be expected to take primary responsibility for providing all students the necessary learning experiences and programs of preparation. The four areas are: Key Content Knowledge, Key Cognitive Strategies, Key Learning Skills and Techniques, and Key Transitions. The Texas College and Career Readiness Task force has also added a fifth key area, Key Systems, in order to add school-based areas of intervention to the Profile Planning process. These Key areas are not mutually exclusive, but are dependent on the implementation of each other area. Data is also essential to college and career readiness planning. It allows schools and districts to self-diagnose and make informed, targeted decisions that support a college and career ready culture. Also, We will review and evaluate College and Career websites for content, authority, currency, purpose and usability.
