Diabetic Care Provider Training of Unlicensed School Personnel--Refresher course
Under HB 984

If you have or may have diabetic students, this course follows the House Bill 984 guidelines. This class will give school personnel the knowledge to be considered an Unlicensed Diabetes Care Assistant (UDCA). HB 984 states that each campus with a diabetic student is required to provide at least one UDCA if there is a full-time RN, or 3 UDCAs if there is not a full-time RN on campus. To attend this course you had to have taken the full course within a year.  Any nurses may attend but there are no CEUs available.  A complete booklet of information will be provided for each participant to take back to your school.

Important Session Information:

As per HB 984 guidelines, your school has to have unlicensed diabetic care assistants for diabetic students. During this one-day course, you will learn all you need to pass the course. You must complete a written and a skills test, which will be at the end. RNs are not required to take this course but may do so for the most up-to-date information; testing not required.
