Universal Design for Learning, K-12
Blended Session

Universal Design for Learning is a framework based upon the architectural idea that an environment should be designed so that all people can have access to it, the ability to understand it, and use it to the greatest extent possible.  UDL takes that idea and transforms it into a framework for educators to design lessons for learning that are built around three main principles -

1.  Provide multiple means of engagement

2.  Provide multiple means of representation

3.  Provide multiple means of action and expression

This session will provide information on how and why UDL works and ways it can be implemented into the every day life of teachers and students, making learning meaningful by anticipating barriers and removing them before lessons begin.
