Managing Emotions at School: Students and Emotions, K-12
Blended Session

Students' feelings are often intense.  They can be quickly taken over by feelings of excitement, frustration, fear, or joy.  When feelings take over students' behavior, they can find it difficult to manage without adult support.  This is why learning how to recognize and manage feelings is a very important part of a student's social and emotional development.    For some students, learning about emotions comes fairly naturally but for others, feelings are a bit of a mystery.  There are many resources available that can help teach children not only what emotions are, but how to manage them.  In this session we will discuss the science and strategies that educators can use in helping students manage emotions.
