What does a classroom look like that supports a balanced literacy framework? How do
you use the IFD to plan for all components of that framework? This session will focus on
integrating each component with TEKS RS curriculum. We will discuss balanced literacy
and planning from the IFD for shared, guided and independent reading and writing. We will also discuss how to select resources and mentor texts with the IFD.
We will be offering 4 Planning Cohorts around the end of each 6 weeks to meet, either face to face at the ESC or virtually through a Zoom meeting, from 3:30-5:30. These 2 hour planning meetings will be to provide support and collaboration for planning your upcoming unit.
