Moving Forward in Crisis Response
Live Threat Response: Crisis Recovery

Students learn best in safe and caring environments. In today's climate and culture, it is paramount in school safety efforts to be best prepared, willing to intervene, and make purposeful actions to mitigate any threat to our children as while in our care. In this training, ALICE concepts will be shared, as well as other research-based supports and practices in the event of a live threat on campus. In the afternoon, crisis recovery resources and supports will be shared for how to handle the worst-case scenario in education; the loss of a student or educator.

Important Session Information:

It's difficult to think of responding to a situation that involves the safety of our students. However, preparation and maintaining a state of readiness are ways to ensure that students and staff are safe in our schools. Jeni Janek of ESC Region 12 will share protocols, considerations, tools and resources for mitigating the task of resuming operations on a school campus after the loss of a student or staff member. Participants will have the opportunity to join the ESC Region 12 Crisis Response Team after receiving this important logistics training.

Lunch will be provided.
