And research shows that difficulty with phoneme awareness and other phonological skills is a predictor of poor reading and spelling development. This session will explore phonological awareness concepts in the Prekindergarten Guidelines and Kindergarten ELAR TEKS. We will explore the phonological awareness continuum and identify developmentally appropriate instructional methods for supporting young learners across the continuum.
