Thinking Through Assistive Technology
Blended Session

In this blended session, we will be exploring Christopher Bugaj’s book “The New Assistive Tech: Make Learning AWESOME for All.”  This training is suitable for speech pathology staff, diagnosticians, special education teachers (all ages), related services providers, and others who wish to explore the realm of assistive technology.  Participants will meet face-to-face for a short introductory session to receive materials and an overview of the AT consideration process, including understanding and complying with legal statutes and regulations.  As we read through the book, learners will share what they are learning, ask questions, and network with peers through an online platform.  We will follow up with virtual sharing and plans for implementation in your practice. Book included with session enrollment and participation.

From the book…. “This book primarily focuses on how to develop a consistent approach for choosing technology to design accessible, inclusive, and awesome educational experiences for the benefit of ALL students in public schools.” ~Christopher Bugaj
