Using STAAR Accommodations to Maximize Student Achievement, Grades 3-12
Blended Session

Participants will learn the importance of classroom accommodations for students with disabilities, and how common classroom accommodations translate into necessary accommodations on STAAR.  Participants will review their classroom, campus or district data to compare STAAR achievement of students with disabilities to all students and identify areas of possible growth.  With the support of ESC staff, participants will be able to apply the knowledge gained to their educational setting, and develop a plan to prepare students to maximize their potential using those tools. 

Important Session Information:

Participants will use their own district/campus/classroom data to identify areas of need for students with disabilities. We will learn how to help students effectively use accommodation support in the classroom, and then tie those classroom supports to supports available on state assessment. This information may be applied when working with many high needs students, including those served by 504, special education, and RtI. 

This is a blended learning session (a combination of online and face-to-face learning), therefore the registration deadline for this session ends one week prior to the face-to-face date. Please pay careful attention to the start and end times for this session. Participants may stay after the conclusion of the face-to-face portion of the session to begin work on the outside learning experience/assignment.
