Multi-Sensory Books to Support Literacy for Students with Multiple Impairments, K-12
Blended Session

Multi-sensory books are a great way to foster the development of literacy skills in students with significant disabilities. Join this blended learning experience to learn about object books, routine books, concept books, and experience books to support independence and literacy. Participants will complete a brief pre-session activity prior to the face-to-face experience and follow-up after the session to share their student successes. Materials are provided for teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers of students with multiple disabilities including those with visual impairment and deafblindness.

Important Session Information:

This session will explore many ways literacy can be accommodated, including active learning, to meet the needs of a variety of students with Low Incidence Disabilities. Students’ needs may include Visual Impairments, Speech Impairments, Motor Impairments, Sensory Impairments, and/or Multiple Impairments.
