Special Education Evaluation Webinar Series
Culturally and Linguistically Responsive ASD Identification

This is a series of live two-hour webinars presented throughout the school year.  Participants will be sent additional information prior to the session describing how to access the webinar.  The intended audience is special education evaluation staff.

Important Session Information:

Disparities in ASD identification, particularly by race/ethnicity and socioeconomic indicators, have been documented for decades. Despite the awareness, reduction of these disparities has been limited. This advanced-level webinar will provide national and Texas state data pertaining to trends in ASD identification disparities. Participants will gain knowledge pertaining to the potential impact of culture and language on ASD assessment practices, culturally and linguistically responsive ASD identification strategies, and promising practices that lead to earlier and more accurate ASD identification in traditionally underserved populations.
