We All have 18+ Programs
What is Legal, Appropriate, and Results-Driven?

Dr. Vickie Mitchell presents: If you have students between the ages of 18-21, who have completed the graduation requirements and continue to be serve on an IEP under your district’s special education services, then you have an 18+ program whether you know it or not. The question is, does your 18+ program or non-program provide age-appropriate, evidence-based practices for adult students on IEP? Participants will learn what an 18+ program is and what it is not, the EBP of adult transition programming, and evaluate the district’s adult special education services using Quality Indicators for 18+ to determine priority needs to improve services for students 18-21 or develop an 18+ program. This can be done with large districts as well as small, rural and special education co-ops (SSAs). Participants will also receive data collection tools to facilitate improved programming and post-school results.
