Section 504 Compliance & Legal Update
Share
As schools seek to comply with the requirements of Section 504 they must become familiar with the Office for Civil Rights and regulations/guidance it issues over the FAPE and nondiscrimination requirement of the law. In this lively session, veteran school attorney Dave Richards will explain the 504 process, through child find, referral, eligibility and plan creation to re-evalaution, to ensure that schools understand their obligations. We’ll discuss complex dynamics including the 504 rights of students with IEPs, together with new cases, OCR guidance and other issues of related interest. Questions are encouraged.
