Explicit Instruction in the Middle School Math Class

In this valuable session, we will explore how to teach math explicitly AND make students active participants in their learning.  Explicit Instruction by Dr. Anita Archer is one of the most highly researched, highly effective programs for student achievement.  Getting information to transfer from working memory (short-term) to long-term memory, utilizing structured partners, incorporating student discourse, teaching vocabulary, and writing in mathematics are some of the highlights we will investigate in this session. I can't wait to see you there.
