Week of the Young Child Celebration

Join us as we celebrate the important work of early childhood educators!

Important Session Information:

I can Do It Myself: Encouraging Independence in our Youngest Learners
“I can’t!”  “I don’t know how!”  “You have to do it!”  Tired of hearing these phrases from your students?.  Teach them how to solve their own problems—rather than rely on you—and help them positively shape their behavior in the process. In this session, participants will discuss why independence is needed, how best to develop it, and ways to encourage parents in the home setting to do the same.

Literature, Language and Life Skills
Although our inclination is to teach the way we were once taught, as times change, so must our strategies.  In this fast-paced interactive session, participants will have fun examining how social, emotional, ethical, and cognitive skills can be taught through the use of literature and interactive reading strategies.
