Teaching Differently: Instructional Strategies for Teaching Literacy to Students with Autism




Students with Autism Spectrum Disorders may have difficulties accessing literacy instruction in classroom settings.  This session will explore the characteristics of ASD and strategies for teaching literacy to students with ASD.  This session will also include alignment of TEKS/prerequisite skills and a lesson planning opportunity.

Important Session Information:


This course will be moved to an online canvas course that will be available for two weeks from the start date.  An email with information to join the canvas course will be emailed out on the first day of the course. The course will be closed two weeks after the start date and credit will be awarded based on the completion of the canvas course activities.

This program has been approved for continuing education credit by the Texas Speech-Language-Hearing Association (TSHA).  TSHA approval does not imply endorsement of course content, specific products, or clinical procedures.
