Social Studies Special Program: LBJ Presidential Library at Region 12



ESC Region 12 is excited to host the LBJ Presidential Library with special programming. 

Important Session Information:


This session is FREE of charge courtesy of the LBJ Presidential Library. During this session, attendees will learn about the LBJ Library resources available for schools and teachers, including information about field trips, bus scholarships, curriculum, primary sources, and professional development.

Two different programs will be presented during the day. Each are outlined below:

Segregation After Death: The Burial that Sparked a Movement

Dive into historical inquiry to discover the controversy surrounding the burial of a Mexican-American soldier that spread from a small Texas town to the White House, providing a national platform for Latino civil rights activists.

A Civil Rights Investigation: Mississippi Burning

Investigate the disappearance of three civil rights workers during the Freedom Summer of 1964 using telephone conversations, oral histories, and documents as evidence to solve the case.
