Diabetic Care Provider Training of Unlicensed School Personnel--Refresher course
Zoom meeting platform

If you have or may have diabetic students, this course follows the House Bill 984 guidelines. This class will give school personnel the knowledge to be considered an Unlicensed Diabetes Care Assistant (UDCA). HB 984 states that each campus with a diabetic student is required to provide at least one UDCA if there is a full-time RN, or 3 UDCAs if there is not a full-time RN on campus. To attend this course you had to have taken the full course within a year.  Any nurses may attend but there are no CEUs available.  A complete booklet of information will be provided for each participant to take back to your school.

Important Session Information:

This session will be virtual so you will need to be able to attend a Zoom meeting to participate. You must have video and audio available so that you are able to participate.

As per House Bill 984 guidelines, each campus needs to have one to three unlicensed diabetic care assistants (UDCAs) if you have any diabetic students. During this refresher course, you will learn information and skills necessary to help with diabetics. RNs are not required to take this course but may do so for the most up-to-date information.
