Sheltered Instruction: Elementary Focus




English Learners enter our classrooms at all stages of English proficiency. Learn some techniques for working with all levels of English Learners and explore elements of Sheltered Instruction to impact learning environment, planning, and instruction. By consistently implementing appropriate accommodations, teachers can build opportunities that increase and support social and academic language and accelerate student achievement.

English Learners in your classroom are processing content and language at the same time. How can we make this cognitive load more effective in content classrooms with learners of all levels? 

Tune in for some cognitive, affective, and linguistic tips to maximize language acquisition and increase academic vocabulary. 

Title III co-op members attend at no additional fee.
