Prompting Thoughtful Respond 3-5




Engaging in a variety of contexts such as interactive read-alouds, shared reading, shared and modeled writing opens the minds of young writers to the possibilities awaiting them. Responding to text stresses the importance of the reader’s role in the construction of meaning.  In this session participants will explore a variety of contexts in which teachers can grow readers and writers as they expertly guide students to think as writers and reflect on what they bring to the text as readers.
