Special Education Monitoring Process
Completing the Self-Assessment

ESC Region 12 provides training, technical assistance and resources for complying with state and federal regulations, state monitoring systems, and federal funding requirements.

Important Session Information:

All LEAs will be required to complete a district level self assessment of their special education program requiring the input of a district leadership team. This team should represent several points of view and areas of expertise in order to provide a comprehensive look at the administration and implementation of the special education program.

The participants in this training will engage in a deeper look into the LEA self-assessment, explore sources of evidence, guiding questions, compliance/strategy items, and quality levels and be able to complete the self-assessment and support ongoing LEA improvement efforts.

This virtual session is designed to familiarize the district and charter teams with all aspects of the self-assessment process.

Teams may include: special education directors, central office staff, assessment personnel, campus administrators, special education teachers, general education teachers, related services personnel, and parents.

Participants will receive an email that will contain the ZOOM link and information to access the training handouts/materials the day before to the scheduled training.
