Responding to reading helps readers construct meaning, process content and increase levels of comprehension. In this two-part series, participants will learn research-based strategies that will support students in crafting quality responses that demonstrate a student's depth of thinking and level of mastery. Come ready to explore share ways to help your students succeed using authentic text and high-yield practices.
During part one (November 16, 2021), participants will engage in a 3 hour learning experience to explore strategies that will prompt student response.
In part two (February 8, 2022), participants will reconvene face to face to collaborate around student work samples and evaluate ways to elevate student thinking and extend their responses.
