Twentieth Anniversary, Here We Come! Librarian Book Study of Ground Zero by Alan Gratz

Join librarians across Region 12 and embark on a six-week online book study of Alan Gratz’s novel, Ground Zero. Gratz skillfully weaves together the stories of two children deeply impacted by the events that took place on September 11, 2001. You will meet Brandon, and experience with him what it was like to be at the World Trade Center on 9/11/01, and Reshmina, a young Afghani girl who gifts us a window into her life in 2019, still shrouded in the darkness of war eighteen years later. As we read, we will explore ideas for commemorating the twenty-year anniversary of 9/11, and consider connections, implications, and insights regarding the six strands in the library standards.

Participants who engage in all components of the book study will be entered to win a FREE Virtual Museum School Field Trip to the 9/11 Memorial & Museum in New York City, New York!
