This is a four part session presented virtually by Dr. Gail Cheramie, LSSP.
Session 1 - September 28; 9AM-11AM
Conceptual Model of SLD: An overview of the conceptual model of the identification of a pattern of strengths and weaknesses for the identification of SLD will be provided in order to build a foundational schema for understanding the specific framework and basis of the Dual Discrepancy Consistency method.
Session 2 - September 30: 9AM-12PM
This session with Dr. Cheramie will continue to develop the evaluator's understanding of how to apply the DDC model when identifying a specific learning disability. She will review the features of the X-Bass software including the newest updates and provide practical application and tips for navigating, decision points for data entry, and discussion of manifestation of cognitive strengths and weaknesses.
Session 3 - October 12: 9AM-12PM
Dr. Cheramie will continue to develop the evaluator's understanding of how to apply the DDC model when identifying a specific learning disability. This will be conducted using case studies to further explore making final recommendations for parents and teachers based on the implications of findings. A focus of dyslexia and dysgraphia will be used in case studies and sample FIE write up.
Session 4 - October 19: 9AM-12PM
In this session, evaluators will review more complicated case studies than previously presented and will be a follow-up for common Q & A of the DD/C and X-BASS.
