The Dyslexia Teacher's Role in the Multidisciplinary Team




Dyslexia evaluations now must occur through an FIIE, so where does that leave the dyslexia teacher/therapist? The dyslexia teacher/therapist is vital to the multidisciplinary team when a student is assessed for dyslexia. 

Important Session Information:


When students are suspected of having dyslexia and referred for an FIIE, the dyslexia therapist/teacher plays a critical role in the Multidisciplinary Team. This team member has training in the reading process, dyslexia and related disorders, and dyslexia instruction; who better to consult than one who is trained in dyslexia! This session will be a collaborative approach of sharing ways the dyslexia therapist/teacher can contribute to the dyslexia evaluation process. Time will be allowed for LEAs to collaborate together, so bring your evaluation team to make this work for you!
