T-PESS One-Day Initial Certification




This session serves as the initial training required in order to serve as a principal appraiser in Texas. In 2020 the 2-day requirement shifted to a 1-day requirement. Participants will gain a practical understanding of the Texas Principal Evaluation and Support System, understand connections between research-based leadership responsibilities and the T-PESS process, and understand essential considerations for implementing T-PESS with fidelity. 

Important Session Information:


This one-day initial certification training is for those who are new to appraising using T-PESS. Individuals who took the initial 2-day training are eligible for the 2020 half-day update training. Principal supervisors may ask their principal or assistant principal to attend this training with them, at which time this training will also serve as the local orientation. Principals who will use the T-PESS rubric to appraiser their assistant principals must have this training.
