Designing IEPs for Students Receiving Speech and Language Therapy and other Related Services




This session will extend the Standards-Based IEP process for evaluators, including speech-language pathologists or other related services providers. We will address the development of the present levels of academic achievement and functional performance (PLAAFP) based on student data and/or impact & needs statements from the most recent evaluation.  In addition, attendees will draft annual goals (academic and/or functional) and objectives and explore consistent methods of data collection. Participants will understand the importance of these components and how their alignment results in an appropriate and ambitious IEP for students receiving special education and related services.

Important Session Information:


In order to attend this session, registered participants must have taken one of the “Developing Standards Based IEPs for Evaluation Personnel” sessions through ESC Region 12 offered on either February 8, 2022 or June 30, 2022.
