Spelling Instruction: What You Should Have Learned In College!
Zoom Session




Do you know how to remediate students' spelling errors? Some students continue to struggle with spelling even though 84% of English words have predictable spelling patterns. Come learn the five basic orthographic principles of spelling to help your students not only learn how to write words, but to utilize those principles to sound out unfamiliar words. Our guest speaker will lead us from 5-6:30pm each Tuesday (via Zoom) in September as we focus on developing a better understanding of the following: five principles of English orthography,  irregularly spelled words, syllable types, spelling assessments, and interpreting student misspellings to drive instruction. This session is applicable to ALL teachers regardless the academic area or grade level. Come join us!

This session will be held over 4 evening zoom sessions in September. The zoom link to access the session will be emailed to registered participants the afternoon before and the day of the session.
