Developing Standards Based IEPs for Administrators




This session will guide administrators/coordinators through a deeper look at IEP development and reflect on their current practices.  After a brief review of the legal requirements and TEA approved guidance for IEP goal development, participants will apply their knowledge by assessing their PLAAFP for the essential elements and Standards-Based IEP goal/objective(s) for critical areas of need.

Participants will leave this training knowing:

  • The essential elements of a PLAAFP and Annual Goals and Objectives
  • How to evaluate PLAAFPs that create a strong foundation for IEP goals and objectives
  • How to review measurable IEP goals and objectives that align with state standards (TEKS) and address identified critical needs
