Elementary (PK-5) School Counselor Orientation and Best Practice Institute
Using the Texas Model Guide to Steer Your Counseling Program

This session is tailored specifically for Elementary Middle School Counselors (PK-5). Counselors who serve students in elementary grades will learn about topics including guidance lessons and climate-and-culture building on the elementary campus, tools for reaching students and parents in poverty situations, bullying prevention and intervention, digital citizenship/social media responsibility, behavioral interventions, advising pre-adolescents, and more. Participants will be able to learn of various procedures for implementing state mandates and ensuring quality elementary school counseling services for public schools. 

Important Session Information:

Effective school counseling programs have many elements to consider in order to be a success. In this session, we will explore resources and materials to help build a successful program and start a collaboration for future support. This session will be for both elementary and secondary counselors.

This session is exclusively for Temple ISD school counselors
