Transdisciplinary Play-based Assessment is a comprehensive, easy-to-follow process for assessing four critical developmental domains—sensory-motor, social-emotional, communication and language, and cognitive—through observation of the child's play with family members, peers, and professionals.
This two-day session will prepare diagnosticians, LSSPs, SLPs, and other district personnel involved in the evaluation of young children to use this research-based method in their district assessments.
Day 1 will instruct participants in the TPBA process.
Day 2 will instruct participants on the developmental areas and family and play facilitation strategies.
Objectives: As a result of this presentation the participant will be able to...
1) define the roles of the TBPA team members,
2) gather appropriate information about a child’s abilities in the four assessment domains,
3) utilize assessment findings to generate a written report and determine eligibility for special education services
