Decoding Decodables!




Decodable texts are essential when students are still in the decoding stages of reading.They offer authentic practice of taught phonics skills, and encourage students to decode to the text they are reading, instead of looking at the pictures. In this session we highlight the basic elements of decodable text, and explore practical lessons and routines for using decodables.
