Participants will be certified to conduct hearing screenings within the school district. Participants will receive an overview of the rules and forms for school hearing screenings in Texas. Participants will also receive updated information on diagnosing and treating hearing problems and abnormalities. Standards for screening tests and screener training courses are: individuals who have completed high school and the department’s vision or hearing screening course are eligible to be certified as screeners. This certification is active for five years, when a re-certification course must be taken (any time during that year) for the screener to perform screenings.
