Promoting Problem Solving and Reasoning with Representations Through Investigating Real World Issues with Data

This professional development session is applicable to teachers in grades 6-12 who teach concepts related statistics and data analysis. Participants will engage with real world data that promotes students' curiosity and critical thinking. We will use a problem solving approach and a free online data tool, CODAP, to explore how to teach students about key graphical data representations and the statistical concepts they need to learn to be successful with TEKs and more!

Dr. Hollylynne Lee, is the Distinguished Professor of Mathematics and Statistics Education, NC State University and the 2022 Recipient of the Cherry Award for Great Teaching, Baylor University.
