Making the Most of Mentor Text (3-5)
Share
Mentor texts are books that model the craft and skills involved in reading and writing. They give students authentic, real-world examples of different kinds of writing from which they can learn. In this session, participants will learn how to use high-leverage text for a range of purposes and with a range of students. We will explore a process of how to select quality mentor texts, identify the multiple instruction needs they lend, and learn how to authentically connect reading and writing.
