Effective Classroom Instruction: Design of Instruction for Authentic Student Engagement
Day 2 of a Three-Part Series Aligned to ESF Lever 4.1




During this action packed second day of our three part series, participants will understand the intentionality that goes into planning lessons that lead not only to student learning but to student retrieval of the learning. We will be able to apply the fundamentals from day one as we begin planning lessons that include clarity of the learning objective, frequent student responses, activating prior knowledge, building vocabulary, and closing our lessons with purpose. Teachers will leave this session with research-based strategies empowering them to design instruction for rigorous learning experiences and authentic student engagement.
