A Texas Prekindergarten Guidelines Training on the 2022 Revised Mathematics Domain
Building Strong Mathematical Foundations in Pre-K

This professional development session aims to empower Pre-K educators to foster their students' mathematical development, as outlined in the Texas Prekindergarten Guidelines Math Domain. Through interactive activities, guided discussions, and expert-led instruction, participants will deepen their understanding of mathematical concepts and learn how to facilitate children's development of number sense, joining and separating, geometry and spatial sense, measurement, and classification and patterns. With a focus on evidence-based practices, participants will engage in collaborative learning opportunities, receive practical strategies, and explore resources to enhance their classroom instruction. This session will also provide time for reflection and goal setting to apply their new learning to their unique classroom contexts. By the end of the session, participants will have a comprehensive understanding of how to promote mathematical development in the Pre-K setting and feel empowered to implement these practices in their classrooms. They will feel confident in their ability to help their students develop a strong foundation in mathematics, setting them up for success in later grades.
